Judge Norton is currently serving his first term as a Circuit Court Judge for the 28th Judicial Circuit (Baldwin County) after being elected in November 2012 without opposition. Judge Norton is originally from Port St. Joe, Florida and graduated from Troy State University in 1992 and from the Jones School of Law at Faulkner University in 1996.

He began practicing law in 1997 and served as an Assistant District Attorney for Alabama's Sth Judicial Circuit. After moving to Baldwin County in 2000, he continued his service as an Assistant District Attorney for Alabama's 28"'Judicial Circuit Court. In 2002, he began practicing law with the firm of Wilkins, Bankester, Biles and Wynne, PA where he served as the city prosecutor for the Municipal Courts of Fairhope and Robertsdale, Alabama. He served as a Municipal and State Court prosecutor for virtually all of his legal career and has participated in approximately 100 criminal and civil jury trials, which allows Norton to bring a wealth of experience to the bench.

Judge Norton is a former partner of the law firm of Kopesky, Britt and Norton, LLC and was the co-owner of two real estate title insurance companies located in Baldwin County. Fairhope Title Services, Inc. and Baldwin Legal Title, LLC. His successful law practice was very diverse and included residential and commercial real estate transaction law, civil litigation, domestic relations, probate/estate and criminal prosecution through his service with the Baldwin County District Attorney's office.

Judge Norton resides in Fairhope with his wife of 25 years, Laura Norton, and their three children, Reid, Reagan and Wills. He and his family are members of Fairhope United Methodist Church. They are also active participants with the City of Fairhope Youth Soccer, Football and Baseball Leagues, with whom he volunteers as a coach for all three sports. Judge Norton is a member of the Baldwin County Bar Association, Director of Baldwin Court Services, Senior Bowl Committee member, South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce member and an Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce member, by whom his former firm was awarded the 2011 Eastern Shore Small Business of the Year award.
