Judge Jody Bishop is currently serving his second term as a Circuit Court Judge for the 28th Judicial Circuit (Baldwin County) after being re-elected in November 2018. He previously served 12 years as Presiding District Judge for the 28th Judicial Circuit and three years as Municipal Judge for the City of Fairhope. He is a former Assistant District Attorney for Baldwin County and owned and operated his own law practice prior to assuming the office of District Judge.
Judge Bishop is a past President of the Alabama District Judges Association and a current member and past President of the Kiwanis Club of Fairhope and the Eastern Shore. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Alabama and as a member of the board of the Fairhope Educational Enrichment Foundation. He currently serves as a member of the Executive Board of the Boy Scouts of America, Mobile Area Council.
He is a graduate of Fairhope High School, Berry College and the University of Alabama School of Law.
Judge Bishop and his wife, Laura, live in Fairhope, Alabama and are the parents of two children. He and his family attend The First Baptist Church of Fairhope where he has served as a Deacon and Sunday School Youth teacher.
