Prior to taking office as District Judge in 2025, Judge Michael Hoyt practiced law for over eighteen years with the law firm of Harbison & Hoyt, LLC, which he co-founded with his law partner in 2006. There he maintained a general law practice representing citizens across Baldwin County on a variety of criminal and civil matters. Judge Hoyt served as Municipal Court Judge for the City of Daphne for twelve years and served as a prosecutor for the City of Foley.
Judge Hoyt is 1996 graduate of Daphne High School. He earned a B.A. in Public Administration from Auburn University (2001) and a J.D. with honors from the William H. Bowen School of Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (2006). Judge Hoyt is a member of the Baldwin County Republican Party.
Judge Hoyt and his wife, Laurie, have three children, and are members of St. Patrick Parish.
