Judge Byron Brackin was born and raised in Baldwin County, Alabama. He graduated from Bayside Academy in 1999. Thereafter, Judge Brackin attended Birmingham-Southern College for his undergraduate studies and earned his law degree from Mississippi College School of Law.
Upon graduating from law school, Judge Brackin joined his father in private practice, where they handled a broad range of legal matters, including domestic relations, civil disputes, probate matters, criminal defense, transactional matters, and others. During his years in private practice, Judge Brackin returned to school and obtained a Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Alabama School of Law.
Judge Brackin was appointed to the circuit bench by Governor Kay Ivey on March 28, 2025.
Judge Brackin is married and has three children. He attends services at St. James Episcopal Church with his family and is a member of the Baldwin County Republican Party.
