Passport Fees
IMPORTANT NOTICE - The Passport Fees have been recently updated; see the updated passport fees (PDF). NOTE: The Execution Fee for Adult Applicants is CASH ONLY.
You may apply for, or renew, a passport by going to the Circuit Clerk's Office in one of the three Baldwin County Courthouse locations. You will need to bring the listed items, below, as well as the correct fee as explained below.
Items needed to obtain a passport or passport card
- Application (must be completed in black ink with no scratch outs, white outs or corrections)
- Certified Birth Certificate (State embossed seal or multi-color seal must be present on the birth certificate, a hospital birth certificate or photocopy will not be accepted) OR
- Naturalization Papers (original, no photocopy) OR
- Expired Passport; must be submitted with new application for adult or child (if child is under 14 years of age must submit certified birth certificate also)
- One (1) recent passport photo (Must be a passport photo; no other type of photo will do.)
- A valid driver’s license or photo ID (if the person applying for the passport is under 18 years of age, we will need the parent or guardian’s license also)
The Circuit Clerk’s Offices are located at the Baldwin County Courthouse, 2nd Floor, District Civil Division (see the home page for location and contact information). Passport office hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The office is closed on all State and Federal holidays.
You may obtain a certified birth certificate from the Bureau of Vital Statistics from the state where you were born. Follow this link to passport services if you do not know how to contact the state of your birth. With a credit card, they will overnight your birth certificate to you. Anyone born in Alabama may obtain a birth certificate at the Baldwin County Health Department:

Their office hours are 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. If you want your birth certificate the same day, you must be there no later than 4 p.m. The cost is $15 per certified copy; additional copies are $4 each. Passport Services will not accept a hospital certificate or a notification of birth registration.

The following can be made by check payable to U.S. Dept. of State:
Applicants 16 years old or older: $130.00 (Passport valid - 10 yrs)
Applicants under 16 years old: $100.00 (passport valid - 5 yrs)
You can also apply for a passport card. Fees for passport cards:
Applicants 16 years old or older: $30.00
Applicants under 16 years old: $15.00
If you wish to expedite, an additional fee of $60.00 will be required.
You should receive your passport within 8 to 11 weeks from the date you apply. Your passport and birth certificate will be mailed to the address provided on your application.
Passports that are needed within 3 weeks can be expedited for an additional fee of $60.00. The passport should be issued within 5 to 7 weeks from the receipt of the application by the Department of the State, Passport Services.
The application must be signed by the applicant before the passport agent in the Clerk’s Office, and the applicant must present a photo I.D. such as a driver license. Each applicant, regardless of age, must appear.
Both parents must appear and sign the application for applicants under 16 year of age and present a photo ID and proof of relationship (such as a birth certificate) to the applicant. If a parent cannot appear in person a notarized statement of consent must be presented. The form is available in the Clerk’s Office.
Passports can be renewed if you submit your most recent passport that was issued on or after your 16th birthday, if it was issued within the last 15 years. The Clerk’s Office has renewal forms available.
